Backend Software Engineer, Airbnb for Real Estate

However this is actually a small segment of residential housing, the majority of the market is apartment homes. The Airbnb for Real Estate team’s mission is making these apartment homes more accessible for hosting on Airbnb. We do this by working with and supporting the owners, operators, and residents of these apartment homes. We also support professional hosts who partner with real estate operators to offer host stays in otherwise unutilized space.

A Typical Day

• Work with talented software engineering team to build services and APIs to drive existing and new features for our stakeholders
• Work with data engineers to define offline data schemas for business insights and product features
• Collaborate with cross functional product partners to deliver key initiatives for our roadmap, including but not limited to product managers, designers, researchers, and quality assurance

Your Expertise

• 2-4 years of software development experience
• Expertise with one or more backend server languages (Java, Kotlin preferred), and expertise in popular storage systems such as relational databases, noSQL and caching
• Experience working with a SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) at scale
• Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
