Role and Responsibilities
Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Architect to spearhead the transformation of the data warehouse from on prem to the Azure Cloud space. As the Director of Data Architecture, you will lead solution design, develop governance, and manage deliverables’ quality control.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Drive the evolution and architecture for scalable and secure data platforms.
• Experience in managing technologies using Databricks on Azure
• Design and develop robust database solutions to manage data efficiently.
• Work closely with Skyworks Enterprise Architecture and Product teams to design and implement a modern data architecture.
• Engage with strategic customers and ensure their future needs and vision are top of mind.
• Oversee deployment of long-term strategic data products and infusing key data and analytics services in applicable areas of business and IT.
• Design, build and own conceptual and logical data models, data flows, and integration patterns for the data lake, data lakehouse, and consumption data layers.
• Support data engineers in building and managing conceptual, logical and physical models of data architecture.
• Be involved in all project phases and drive data architecture initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field; Master’s degree in related field is a plus
• 10+ years IT experience in managing solution designs.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in lead roles architecting solutions at scale for cloud data platforms.
• Has hands on experience architecting and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.
• Strong governance and management experience is required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Expertise in building secure and scalable data ingestion, ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
• Experience designing data structures and models for data lakes and cloud data lakehouse for downstream analytics applications.
• Strong SQL skills and programming skills using Python and Pyspark
• Comfortable working within an agile environment and collaborating with product owners in creating and managing technical backlog of stories and epics.
• Experience with orchestration and automation of data pipelines to build DevOps model.
• Strong communicator individually, in groups and in presentations with a vision for how cloud data platforms can enable a better future powered by data.
• Experience with DevOps and DataOps (Terraform, Azure DevOps, Unity Catalog and Purview)
The following technical skills are considered a “plus”:
• Experience in machine learning including ML Flow.
• Experience in containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and container deployment.
• Knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing industry
In addition to the above technical skills, the ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• Proficient at working in Agile project methodologies.
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Comfortable multitasking between multiple projects
• Ability to work on challenging issues independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively with international and multicultural teams and with all levels of management

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock. These incentives and awards are based on individual and/or company performance.
