About the role
Join the Enterprise Data Office (EDO), where we are working to make data a catalyst for solving challenges for CMHC in providing mortgage liquidity, housing affordability and housing development. In the Bilingual Senior Manager, Data Strategy and Enablement role, you will lead and support a team that brings corporate data services to life. You will be instrumental in leading and implementing the organization’s data strategy, ensuring data capabilities are appropriately aligned with organizational objectives. The role demands expertise in strategic planning, change management, and project management to foster a data-centric culture to drive organizational goals. 
  
What you’ll do:

  • Manage and oversee different aspects of the Enterprise Data Strategy and enablement activities, which include evolving the Enterprise Data Framework with the mandate of enabling the CMHC value data as an asset through the planning and delivery of data and analytics capabilities through prioritized initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure EDO appropriately deploys its services.
  • Liaise with IT and Business stakeholders to ensure alignment of data-related initiatives to enterprise-wide business objectives and Corporate Strategy, including Change Management.
  • Lead the data strategy practice in developing, prioritizing and operationalizing strategic capabilities and services to enable the organization to meet its objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate change management strategies are leveraged for EDO initiatives.
  • Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators and metrics to ensure the delivery of quantified value to the organization.
  • Evolve operating models to ensure appropriate delivery of services in support of data management best practices.
  • Continuously evolve Data Services through project delivery, ensuring value realization.

 

What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as computer systems, information management, or business administration.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant data governance and management experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.                    
  • Extensive experience with data governance and implementation of data stewardship and information management practices, processes, and technologies (i.e.: Informatica, Collibra, or other tools) and demonstrated knowledge of data lifecycle management along with an understanding of data modelling and data architecture  .
  • Strong leadership skills to influence behaviors and direction, and persuade others to follow a plan of action, including the ability to provide strategic advice to Senior Management.
  • Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with extensive experience in developing and operationalizing policies, directives and standards.                                                                          
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and under tight deadlines.                     
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information and develop recommendations.

 

It would be great if you also had:

  • A Certified Information and Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) certification or equivalent industry recognized certifications.    
  • A Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA) and/or Certified Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) certifications.                                                
  • A master’s degree in data related areas: Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Management, Management of Analytics
