Job Description

Cognosante is looking for a motivated, hands-on Business Intelligence Analyst I with strong logic and interpersonal skills who is up for the challenge of joining a high-performing Data Ecosystem (DE) team (Enterprise Data Warehousing combined with Analytics).  As a Business Intelligence Analyst I, you will plan, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of operating programs for our clients.  You will be responsible for pulling data from systems of record, transforming the data to align with data governance best practices, visualize the data and interpret it for business unit stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with project goals.
• Assist in the establishment and enforcement of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging professional development and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure individual/team milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets 
• Gather business requirements and help prioritize requirements for new data to be incorporated
• Provide support, education, and training to effectively leverage BI technology 
• Utilize a wide variety of tools and languages to achieve results  
• Identify relationships within data sets that can produce meaningful insights to stakeholders 
• Create interpretable visualizations and disseminate analysis to key stakeholders  
• Communicate findings to team, leadership, and customers to ensure models are well understood and incorporated into business processes 
• Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics packages using the full range of functionality available through the BI suite of tools 

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Data Science 
• Strategic thinking and mental flexibility to be able to understand the details of the problem and the big picture solutions 
• Ability to cultivate relationships with strong communication and presentation skills 
• Proficient in SQL and querying databases
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment 
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple duties simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science or comparable business field (4 years of experience instead of degree is acceptable)
• 2+ years of experience with
  • Snowflake implementation-related projects
  • Programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL 
• Strong proficiency in data modeling and database design
• Agile/Scrum Certification
• Lean Six Sigma

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
