Job Details:

General Notes

This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.

Purpose

Perform experiments and interpret data leading to publication of results in scientific journals, and contribute to safe laboratory work conditions that are compliant with all rules and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret data for experiments on bacterial physiology and drug design.

  • Write academic manuscripts for publication.

  • Mentor undergraduate students and graduate rotation students.

  • Manage ordering of equipment and supplies, write and maintain laboratory safety protocols including radiation safety and biohazard safety.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field with several years’ experience in laboratory research. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than five years’ experience in laboratory research; multiple manuscripts and research grant applications.

Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications
