POSITION SUMMARY

EarnIn is on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We are going through transformative investments in machine learning platforms and algorithms. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a team of machine learning engineers. This role involves overseeing the development and deployment of machine learning models focused on predicting the risk associated with giving our users early access to earned wages. This position will be based in Canada. The Canadian base salary range for this full-time position is $166,500 - $203,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This is a remote or hybrid position.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the end-to-end development and deployment of machine learning models for risk prediction in early access to earned wages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, data science, and engineering, to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure robustness, scalability, fairness, transparency and security of machine learning solutions. Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives at Earnin.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in machine learning and financial technology to drive continuous innovation.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful execution.
• Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in the recruiting efforts for other teams.
• Work with the leadership across EarnIn to deliver our mission: build a financial system that works for everyday people.

What We're Looking For:.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry machine learning experience and excellent software engineering skills.
• 1+ years of experience in leading a team of 3+ machine learning engineers and data scientists.
• Expertise in the breadth of machine learning modeling techniques such as tree-based models and deep learning techniques.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as XGBoost, ScikitLearn, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with ML cloud platforms such as Databricks, AWS Sagemaker, or GCP Vertex AI.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; you can comfortably work with cross-functional teams of software engineers, PMs, and data scientists.
