Marketing Analytics - let’s introduce ourselves

The Marketing Analytics Team is a talented team with strong data analytics capabilities and a deep understanding of the marketing funnel performance. It supports the global Marketing organisation with the right data, results, and insights. The team’s purpose is to provide measurement and analysis to drive the business outcomes and analyse the marketing performance.

 

Marketing Data Science Lead – this is what you’ll do
In this new role you will define, maintain, and develop the data science area to support the Volvo Car marketing performance. You will lead a team of data scientists and data engineers to deliver the advanced analytics to support our marketing objectives. You will collaborate closely with the media execution, planning and marketing strategy teams to ensure that the insights and analysis delivered by this team can be used to impact our business.

 

You will take the responsibility of delivering our Marketing Mixed Modelling work and leveraging the insights from these to understand the impact on our KPIs, ROI and to plan future media investments. 

 

The team you lead will build further upon our existing data lake and ensure that data is structured so that other analysts can use the data. Working closely with the Engineering team, you will define automated approaches to common workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within data science and analytics.

 

You will need to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in data science and engineering. You will develop and nurture collaborations with the different data science teams throughout the company.

The team is now expanding, and we are looking for a team player with a pragmatic can-do attitude and enjoys problem solving. In this role, it’s your ambition, experience & strategic drive that matter.  

 

You can lead a team and provide guidance, strategic and expert input where needed. You can manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously, respond to work with urgency and work to deadlines.

 

You will be able to take the advanced analytics work developed by yourself and the team and be able to present these insights and analysis to executive management. You will be able to effectively communicate with different stakeholders.

 

You have strong technical skills and expert knowledge across all key aspects of data science. You have a clear view of best practice in data science applications and a strong track record of creating data sets and building pipelines. 

 

Further, you have a passion for marketing data and can decompose complex solutions and insights into a simple narrative for the rest of the company.

 

Qualifications:
•    5+ years of experience in Data Science or Data Engineering
•    3+ year of experience of leading Data Scientist or Data Engineers
•    Excellent communication, presentation & stakeholder management skills 
•    Experience from working in a global/regional organization.
•    Advanced experience working with Machine Learning, predictive analytics, regression analysis and other data science techniques.
•    Strong knowledge of other data related areas, including Google Analytics, CRM Marketing, Paid Media Platforms is an advantage.
•    Good working understanding of Snowflake, AWS, GCP and other data storage platforms.
•    Fluent English written and spoken.
•    Strong knowledge in Marketing Mix Modelling
•    Solid Python and/or R proficiency

 

Location: HQ Gothenburg or London. International travel may be required.
