We are researching, developing and commercializing a novel class of rationally-designed Live Synbiotics™ (probiotics + prebiotics) that have demonstrated clinical efficacy to treat conditions like metabolic syndrome, inflammation and neurodegeneration.Pendulum has created proprietary pipelines to build a unique discovery platform that identifies key, novel bacterial strains and the prebiotics that feed them.

Position Summary:
Pendulum is seeking a Data Engineer to develop, release and maintain production data architecture and services. Our ideal candidate has experience implementing cloud-based data pipelines in a fast-paced startup environment. The candidate is able to assess implications of various implementation strategies and communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders. Implement and maintain data integrations and ingestion from relevant data sources. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to expand their technical experience and capabilities and grow valuable project and technical management experience in a dynamic, collaborative, fast-growing startup environment.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, release and maintain company-wide data sources, pipelines and services
- Work with a team of engineers developing and supporting corporate data warehouse in Snowflake and Redshift with technologies such as fivetran and DBT
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers and domain experts to implement continuous testing processes
- Identify and resolve data integrity issues and maintain and create new data integrations
- Learn and teach valuable techniques and principles through code and analysis reviews
- Proactively engage your users to understand and address their ongoing and future needs
- Knowledge Requirements:BA/MS/PhD or equivalent experience in CS, Statistics, Economics or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing data warehouses and pipelines, e.g., Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT
- 3+ years professional software development life cycle experience
- 1+ years experience in AWS, GCP or Azure environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Belief in transparency and open communication, and the ability of an individual’s power to improve and enable those around them
Plus:
- Experience with ETL tools such as Airflow or Luigi
- Experience with Docker, Linux, Make, Bash
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, Batch
