Senior Research Scientists at Hippocratic AI are presented with an exciting opportunity to pioneer scientific and technical innovation in pre-training Large Language Models (LLMs) for healthcare applications. Collaborating with a team of elite research scientists and engineers, you will lead efforts to develop and enhance LLMs tailored for the complexities of healthcare data. Your expertise in pre-training techniques will be instrumental in advancing our mission to revolutionize healthcare through AI technology.

We are currently seeking a Senior Research Scientist with a focus on pre-training LLMs to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in advancing pre-training techniques to address the unique challenges and requirements of healthcare data. Your contributions will drive the development of LLMs that are safe, efficient, and effective in healthcare applications.

Responsibilities:

- Lead research initiatives focused on pre-training Large Language Models (LLMs) for healthcare applications, with a focus on understanding and leveraging domain-specific knowledge.

- Develop novel algorithms and methodologies for pre-training LLMs using large-scale healthcare datasets, ensuring robustness, efficiency, and effectiveness.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate pre-trained LLMs into various healthcare applications, including clinical decision support systems, natural language understanding interfaces, and predictive analytics tools.

- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in pre-training techniques, natural language processing (NLP), and healthcare informatics, incorporating relevant findings into research projects and product development efforts.

- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals within the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and healthcare informatics.

- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment.

Required Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

- 5+ years of research experience with a focus on pre-training Large Language Models (LLMs).

- Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals.

- Deep understanding of machine learning, particularly in the areas of deep learning, neural networks, and transfer learning.

- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in machine learning research, such as Python, and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

- Experience working with large-scale datasets, particularly in the healthcare domain, and familiarity with relevant data preprocessing and cleaning techniques.

Other Requirements:

- Strong preference for candidates able to work onsite at our headquarters in Palo Alto, CA or Seattle although remote work throughout the U.S. will be considered.
