We are thrilled to present a unique opportunity for a seasoned Data Engineer ready to elevate their career and play a pivotal role in enhancing our data capabilities. As an integral part of the Analytics team, this role offers the chance to leverage our vast array of data to drive strategic decisions and support the key decision-makers within Sky Ireland.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain self-serve data marts that empower stakeholders with reliable and accessible data for reporting and advanced analytics.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data models, ensuring seamless and error-free deployments of data changes.

• Collaborate with data analysts, business stakeholders, and other team members to understand data needs and directly, or indirectly, implement solutions that address those needs effectively.

• Liaise with other data functions in Sky Group to deliver strategic data solutions.

• Be part of a high-performing team that looks to influence both Trading and Strategic decisions within Sky .

• Develop strong relationships with the team’s stakeholders and be a key part of how the wider Sky team delivers on its goals and targets.
   

What you'll bring

• Extensive experience in a Data Engineering capacity.

• Strong expertise in SQL and experience with data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift etc.

• Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data pipeline construction.

• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, version control (e.g., Git), and automated testing frameworks for data.

• Demonstrated ability in implementing data governance and change management practices.

• Proficient in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala, etc.) for data processing and automation.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex data issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong team player with a proven ability to work cross-functionally to deliver on data projects.
