We are seeking a Director of Data Management to join our Shared Application Services organization at Clarivate's offices in Kansas City, Ann Arbor or Philadelphia. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a growing team and drive significant improvements to Clarivate’s business by enhancing our data quality through people, processes, and technology. You will directly manage 4-6 colleagues and oversee a span of approximately 15 individuals, reporting to the Senior Director of Shared Application Services. We are eager to speak with candidates who have experience leading high-performing data management organizations. 

 

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments 

  • Proficient in quickly establishing relationships with executive stakeholders, vendors, and team members. 

  • A fast learner with a consistent track record of delivering strong results. 

  • At least 10 years of experience leading technical team via agile software delivery. 

  • At least 5 years of experience leading master data management or data governance functions. 

  • At least 5 years of experience using master data management tools such as Tamr or Boomi Master Data Hub to master customer, vendor, product, contact, and worker data; other tools will suffice. 

  • At least 3 years of experience driving successful organizational change initiatives. 

 

It would be great if you also had . . .  

  • Experience working in large organizations. 

  • Experience integrating systems across a complex enterprise architecture. 

  • Experience with data enrichment tools such as D&B, Ringold, or Loqate. 

  • Progressive increases in responsibly over your career. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or related degree.  

 

What will you be doing in this role?  

  • Developing and implementing master data management strategies, technologies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of key data elements across systems and processes. 

  • Leading a team responsible for maintaining master data elements, including customer data, vendor data, product data, contacts, and worker data. 

  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements, continuously improve data quality, and align master data initiatives with organizational goals and objectives. 

  • Evolving data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards. 

  • Driving continuous improvement efforts to enhance data quality, streamline processes, and optimize master data management technologies. 

  • Providing leadership and guidance to resolve data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. 

  • Developing metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of master data management practices and communicate performance to stakeholders. 

  • Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in master data management and leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive advantage. 

  • Planning, building, delivering, and managing all data management services, including financials, service availability, software delivery, support delivery, roadmaps, risk, security vulnerabilities, stakeholder relationships, and vendor relationships. 

 

About the Team 

The Data Management team currently consists of 10 master data analysts and a manager located across the US and India. We collaborate with internal stakeholders in sales operations, product management, finance, tax, order and billing management, commercial policy and pricing, contract management, customer service, and external reporting. We develop policies, enact governance, and master data to continuously enhance the quality of our corporate data to support the smooth flow of business processes. The team is expanding to include a technology and engineering team to drive subsequent improvements. 

 

Hours of Work 

  • Full time, permanent  

  • Hybrid working model 2-3 days per week on-site  

  • Must live within a commutable distance to one of our US office locations: Overland Park, KS; Philadelphia, PA; Ann Arbor, MI
