Senior Machine Learning Scientist

Location: Remote – Colombia

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

Our team is part of GoDaddy’s global engineering organization, and our goal is to build and grow a community of ML scientists and engineers to learn, share, and grow. What you'll get to do…

• Articulate and understand a business problem, identify challenges, formulate the ML/NLP/GenAI problem and design and/or prototype solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, identify, and understand key business challenges and opportunities, and develop end-to-end software solutions using ML and AI.
• Collaborate extensively with internal partners, program & product management, and engineering teams to ensure the solution meets business needs, emits valid inferences, and is maintainable.
• Collect and process large volumes of data and build new and improved techniques and/or solutions for data collection, management, and usage.
• Communicate results in a comprehensible manner to all levels of the company, including VPs and above.
• Design and build systems which allow for swapping of new foundational models and keep pace with this rapidly evolving field.
• Brainstorm and share knowledge with other team members to improve the team’s collective skills.

Your experience should include…

• 5+ years of experience with a strong background in both machine learning, Neural Network model development, and software development.
• 2+ years’ experience of working with live data (data cleaning, data visualization, and modeling).
• Strong algorithm design and programming skills in at least one compiled language like C++/Java/Scala, and one interpreted language like Python/R.
• Experience with distributed computing (Hadoop/Spark).
• Experience managing the complete life-cycle of an ML model – from concept to ongoing ML operations.
• Passion for solving interesting and meaningful real-world problems using principled techniques and best practices.
• Passion for collaboration and teamwork.
• Experience documenting, synthesizing, and communicating results.

You might also have…

• Ph.D. or MS in computer science or equivalent quantitative fields.
• Hands-on NLP experience.
