This position
requires an excellent professional with a strong programming skills and solid knowledge of state-of-the-art
mapping and localization algorithms.
As a member of the Lucid Motors perception team, you will research, design, implement, optimize and deploy
mapping and localization algorithm. Doing literature reviews for a particular localization problem,
implementing models, modifying algorithms to improve their performance. In addition, you will play a pivotal
role in the design and implementation of the overall mapping and localization architecture.
This role is located on-site at Headquarters in Newark, CA

Role Responsibilities:
- Work in a world-class ADAS/Autonomous Driving team
- Design, prototype, engineer, test, release and launch cutting edge mapping and localization software stack into the Lucid production programs
- Work closely with other cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and robust implementation and deployment of localization and mapping products for ADAS
- Implement high-quality automotive grade software code compliant to automotive quality and safety standards
- Test, release, and launch the perception algorithm into the Lucid production programs
- Support the Software validation and verification of the mapping and localization algorithms using prototype vehicles, pre-production vehicles · Propose cutting edge S/W algorithms for the future autonomous driving systems
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Academic or industry experience in one or more of the following areas related to mapping and localization: state estimation, probabilistic filtering, SLAM, LIDAR based localization, 3D reconstruction, computer vision
- Solid knowledge or experiences in key areas of Kalman filters, SLAM, sensor fusion, and inertial navigation
- Proficient in C++ and In-depth knowledge in object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, and software design skills
- A solid foundation in math and robotics to propose creative solutions for autonomous systems.
- Excellent communication skills and good team player
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working with cameras, radars, LiDAR, GPS/IMU and in-depth knowledge for related data processing & sensor fusion
- A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical knowledge and creativity required to solve Autonomous Driving
- Experience testing complex perception systems
- Experience in working in agile development teams
- Experience in component and system integration, testing and verification on system and vehicle level
