Job title: Applications Developer—Data Science 

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, has an exciting opportunity for an Applications Developer to join the Wolfram Technology Group department. The Applications Developer will work with the Wolfram Technology Group team to develop applications and solutions for consulting data science projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and will have excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement innovative applications and solutions for consulting data science projects
• Utilizing Wolfram Language to create robust and efficient applications that meet project requirements
• Applying statistical methods and data analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets
• Conducting data manipulation and transformation tasks to prepare raw data for analysis and modeling purposes
• Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data science, AI and machine learning to contribute valuable insights to project discussions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or science
• Strong programming skills with proven experience in languages such as Wolfram Language, Python, R or Java
• Solid background in statistics, data analytics and data manipulation
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

• Master's or doctorate degree in a relevant field
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts is a significant advantage

Job type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Independent Contractor
Salary: Dependent on location and the candidate's background and experience
