Overview

The Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) is looking for a Data Manager for its Adult Services Division (ASD), to support the division across our teams with complex data collection, analysis and reporting using multiple sources and programs.  Data is used to form improvements to policy, practice and quality oversight within our programs and positive outcomes for the Vermonters we serve.  The Data Manager will also supervise two positions on the data team. Preferred candidates will have experience in supervision, complex problem solving and working with all facets of data analysis and have the ability to communicate datasets to a wide variety of audiences, such as program managers, policymakers, community partners and the public.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Adult Services Division Director and can generally be done remotely with some regular in-person meetings required.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but travel may occasionally be required for which private means of transportation should be available.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in data analytics/management, statistics, or a related field AND four (4) years or more of experience in a human services program, public health program or in emergency medical services administration, or other similar healthcare or medical administration or research setting.

OR

 

High school diploma or equivalent AND six (6) years or more of experience in data analytics in a human services program, public health program or in emergency medical services administration, or other similar healthcare or medical administration or research setting.

Preferred Qualifications

A masters or bachelors degree in data analytics, statistics or a related field
Advanced proficiency in data analytics using statistical packages and database management applications with complex data sets.
Experience as a supervisor

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
