Associate Director, Data Science

Your role is to collaborate with multidisciplinary individuals and support the project lead on  customer experience strategy or product design projects, lead data analytics projects. You support the framing opportunities with clients, structuring and running quantitative research programs, through consumer research, quant validation, data analytics creation and prototyping the algorithmic part of the client’s products and services.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team through complex projects, planning, conducting and interpreting design and data design activities to inform customer research, product prototyping, product feasibility studies, futurecasting and simulations. 
• Combine design thinking and user centric techniques with quantitative analysis to diagnose, define and design data-led digital products and services. 
• Apply knowledge of data science techniques and statistics into user centric design projects from customer research to product validation and prototyping. We seek candidates who are empathetic and can use a mix of qualitative and quantitative skills to understand users and what the business is trying to achieve. 
• Conduct technical work sessions or workshops with internal and external teams
• Get involved in New Business activities to help define ways to win projects.
• Take ownership of your area of expertise to elevate the project vision and carry it forward.
• Implement a highly visual approach when delivering data design projects that engages and challenges the thinking of non-technical audiences, sharing insights with client stakeholders. 

Qualifications

• 4-8 years working in the data science field and applying it to real world commercial problems with clearly defined and measured business benefits with a 1+ year team management experience. 
• 2- years experience in design-led product development and working with design discipline, applied design thinking to a data science project.  
• Demonstrated success in embedding data or data models into digital products and services. 
• Work as a self-starter and hands-on technical specialist, take the ownership of projects.
• Experience using statistical techniques such as Regression (Linear, Kernel), Classification (Logistic Regression, Bayesian inference, Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees, Random Forest), Clustering (Nearest Neighbour), dimensionality reduction, principal component analysis, causal inference, Ensemble models. 
• Desired experience using unsupervised and reinforcement learning, NLP, clustering, anomaly detection, ANN, GAN, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) / LSTM. 
• Comprehensive proficiency in key programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, R, SNOWFLAKE, SQL, et)
• Excellent English verbal/written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to successfully articulate your work and its intent to your team and your client
• A unique point of view. You are trusted to question approaches, processes, and strategy to better serve your team. 
• Desired experience working with the Japanese clients. 

Location

• Remote first working with occasional need to be in our Bengaluru office.
