Data Modeler

Overview

We are seeking to appoint a new Data Modeler with industry experience in building Data Vault and knowledge of other modeling concepts for building an enterprise application through an end to end automation.This position will analyse data and business requirements to design highly scalable and efficient data model solutions that utilize data-sharing architectural concepts that satisfy the application needs and provide an integrated data architecture for the strategic design.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, implement and evolve data models
• Ensure designs meet documented objectives for reliability, scalability, supportability, user experience, security, governance, performance and more
• Drive data modeling automation to optimize solutions time to market, increase solutions transparency and overal quality as well as code portability
• Work on establishing and adoption of data modeling principles and standards throughout the team

Qualifications

Essential: 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as computer science, business informatics or mathematics. Comparable education or professional experience also considered

Desirable:

• Certification in any one programming skill

Skills

• Knowledge of modern database technologies (relational/non-relational).
• Knowledge of payments industry ideal (ISO8583, POS etc.)
• Must be comfortable with being considered a reliable and proactive influential team member who is not afraid to take on responsibility in the team (for highlighting, planning and implementing improvements in existing and new applications). 
• Strong communication skills (e.g. with product owners and stakeholders as well as technical-representatives), coordination skills
• Highly organized and highly competent in solving issues and finding solutions.
• Can do, will do open-minded attitude. You will wear many hats, some you will be familiar with and others will be an opportunity to develop.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in designing, developing and implementing software applications in Agile environment. Full stack development experience is preferred.
• In-depth experience with several back-end technologies such as Spring-Boot, Spring-Web, REST, Kafka.
• Experience with Akka and Scala.
• Experience with JAVA 11, Maven/ Gradle.
• Experience with Shell-Script and Linux based operating systems.
• Experience with micro-service architectures.
• Good to have knowledge in Security-OWASP Top 10.
• Experienced in runtime, build and deployment technologies as well as project tools, e.g. Eclipse, IntelliJ, GitLab, JIRA and Confluence.
