The Digital Lab Program at SGS is on a mission to revolutionize the way we approach laboratory operations, with a strategic vision to transition to digital laboratories by 2025. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute setup and maintenance tasks on SGS LIMS solutions in alignment with the objectives of the Digital Laboratory Program.
  • Engage with global and regional technical teams to drive the implementation of LIMS solutions that support the goals of the Digital Laboratory Program.
  • Ensure comprehensive configuration of the LIMS global template within the Digital Laboratory Program strategy, overseeing the entire lifecycle to facilitate successful implementation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take charge of the global configuration of LIMS.
  • Develop and maintain LIMS test methods.
  • Produce and maintain global LIMS templates for collecting master data on a global scale.
  • Participate in defining governance rules for the LIMS test method structure and other master data elements such as regulatory limits, pricing, QC Masks, etc.
  • Drive and uphold standardization of master data in LIMS, in line with specific business rules.
  • Conduct testing to validate the global master data structure in LIMS, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate quality and global processes for LIMS global setup activities.
  • Document the LIMS global setup comprehensively.
  • Collaborate with LIMS support to address issues related to global configuration and methods.
  • Define, produce, and maintain global LIMS templates for data collection.
  • Collaborate with the business and GPO business process owners to design new test methods when a new structure is required.
  • Collaborate with LIMS support to facilitate resolution of LIMS-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Technical high school background in chemistry or information technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in LIMS, G6/SLIMS) specifically. 
  • Knowledgeable in the LIMS process.
  • Fluency in English; additional language(s) considered a plus.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and adhere to SGS ethics, standards, and integrity.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the LIMS process, including understanding end-to-end lab processes, lab quality control principles, analytical tests, and associated instrumentation, testing report logic, etc.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of Macros.
  • Sound knowledge of IT system applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Logical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Team player.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to break down issues, find alternative solutions, compare pros and cons, identify root causes, and synthesize issues for fast resolution.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to convey messages and ideas to diverse audiences, including IT Developers, Lab experts, business users, and managers.
