As a Senior Data Product Manager, you will play a key role in a strategic digital transformation initiative which will drive data and analytics transparency and seamless integration across strategic domains. The programme will define the strategy, approach, and processes by which the organisation acquires, stores, curates, manages, and analyses data, setting standards for data and analytics quality and security. Working within the Data Transformation team, you will help to shape the way we use our data and analytics globally, foster an evidence-driven culture of decision-making, and develop the capability for outstanding use and application of data and analytics at Dyson. 

 

In order to provide integrated shared data and analytics services and enable accurate agile insights to decision-makers, a critical part of the role will involve building meaningful relations and partnerships across global markets and functions. As a Senior Data Product Manager, you will create and own the vision for your initiative within the data transformation programme, driving this vision to data engineers, developers and analysts. Multiple positions are available.

About the role

  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing digital transformation team to drive the Connected objectives.

  • Oversee the data transformation initiative roadmap and reporting, ensuring that models and platforms are developed and improved proactively to meet business demands.

  • Own the backlog and prioritize initiatives for the scrum team working on data transformation.

  • Educate business stakeholders on the value of connected data and its benefits for both Dyson and its customers.

  • Facilitate discussions and gather requirements from stakeholders and consumers of our data, including executives, engineers, analysts, product teams, and Dyson data consumers.

  • Identify and address gaps in data user requirements in a timely manner.

  • Enhance the quality of evidence-driven insights from Connected data, supporting go-to-market strategies, new product launches, and the overall health of our owner base within the categories, as well as supporting data-driven acquisition strategies.

  • Drive adoption of services developed for stakeholders (RDD, NPI, Markets, Channels) to ensure they are effectively utilized by these groups.

  • Oversee data governance, collaborating with Privacy and Legal to obtain necessary PIA/LIAs before combining or activating any datasets. 


About you

  • Minimally 8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or software development.

  • At least 5 years of experience involved in large data transformation programmes.

  • Interest in and/or experience with data/analytics related technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Google Cloud Platform, AWS).   

  • Working knowledge of data architecture and data engineering within a SAFe framework and using Agile methodology. 

  • Experience of creating and implementing a data strategy and data product roadmaps with the natural tendency to think 'Data impact'. 

  • Working knowledge of key tools - including Confluence / Jira / Stash / Bitbucket / GitHub.

  • Strong commercial awareness and working knowledge of the objectives of different business functions within a large organisation - what their respective roles are, and how they typically relate.  

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence others (technical/non-technical) and communicate the impact at senior levels across the organisation. 

  • Comfortable with, and resilience to, a high change environment.

  • Aptitude for project planning and execution, from initiation to completion.
