Sharp Gaming is a brand new state-of-the-art technology platform for the gambling industry. We are on an exciting journey to build the next generation sports betting and gaming platform that will support market leading bookmakers globally.
With over £25 million investment so far, we have a long term vision for it with lots of opportunities in the future.
Sharp Gaming is based in Manchester City Centre and stems from the gaming division at Degree 53. The platform is still in development and we are recruiting talented individuals to help bring our vision to life.
Due to our successful growth, we are now looking for an ETL Developer to join our team.
What will I be doing?
The ETL Developer will report into the ETL Development Team Lead.
We are looking for a talented ETL developer to be part of our migration team, responsible for building the solution that will transfer millions of customer records with data structures of varying complexity from a number of legacy platforms onto our Sharp Gaming Platform.
Our ETL process will be extracting data from 32 & 64 bit Oracle and MS SQL databases, transforming that data into new structures the Sharp Gaming platform requires, which uses a MySQL/Maria DB solution.
You will translate data access, transformation, and movement requirements into functional requirements and mapping designs.
You will need to design and implement the solution that supports both batch operations of data transfer, and subsequent deltas.
You will continually assess the storage requirements, so we can be sure that data can be loaded and that we have the necessary physical capacity.
You will work closely with platform engineers and testers, to validate the data migration has succeeded and that the platform remains available at all time. You will need to be able to reconcile data between the source and destination systems.
You will engage with the DBA team, ensure the target data schemas are understood, and that the solution will not have an impact on the system.
We will be migrating large volumes of customer data, you will be knowledgeable in GDPR and experienced in ensuring data protection, integrity and applying data security best practices.
You will have experience in using SSIS, building packages to extract and transform data.
Given the complexities of our applications, you should have some experience of .net and c#, and be able to work closely with engineers to resolve issues.
You will perform reviews of work carried out by team members, as well as perform your own quality assurance of the solution
You will need to be self motivated, and be able to set your own goals and deliver upon them. You will also need to appreciate the deadlines that the business has set, and ensure any solution is achievable in the desired time frame. You need to be analytical yet pragmatic, and be proactive in deciphering data models where knowledge may be scarce or incomplete.
Technologies you will have experience in:
- Oracle 10g and PL/SQL
- MySQL or MariaDB
- Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services
- Exposure to Attunity would be an advantage
