About the role 

Are you ready to dive into the heart of cutting-edge technology and revolutionise Australia's energy landscape? As a Senior ETL Developer at Origin, you'll be at the forefront of the Energy Transition, making a tangible impact on how we approach data analytics in a field that's experiencing unprecedented growth. 

Why the role matters 

You will be responsible in designing and developing reporting data models, data pipelines supporting various platform and apps, as well as providing data and reporting support for business end user. Primarily working on data and reporting requirements for our Origin Zero business unit. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Design and develop reporting data models and data transformation jobs, handling very large data sets with finesse and precision. 

• Identifying and implementing the most efficient methods for data transformation tasks, ensuring that best practices are adhered to throughout the process. 

• Work closely with stakeholders, including data team leads and front-line managers, you'll translate business requirements into technical specifications, fostering seamless communication and alignment. 

• Your data transformation and visualization will shine as you design and develop tableau reports that support strategic decision-making within the business. 

• Review the work of other data engineers, providing valuable feedback and suggestions for optimisation, contributing to the continual enhancement of our data model and ETL framework. 

What will you bring?  

You will have a passion for mature technologies, and have data migration expertise, with an eye for detail. You'll be an excellent communicator, with the ability to effortlessly translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders. With your data transformation and visualisation wizardry, you'll challenge the status quo and strive for excellence. You will also demonstrate: 

• Experience in a data engineering environment and a solid foundation in SQL (preferably Postgres), you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. 

• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, coupled with your ability to build and maintain complex data environments.  

• Possess a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, data architecture, and performance optimisation best practices, along with hands-on experience in building data assets and pipelines from scratch. 

• In addition, any knowledge of the Australian energy market or experience with ETL transformation tools and Python application development would be highly advantageous.
