Nasdaq’s Economic & Statistical Research (ESR) is looking for a Specialist to join the Market Statistics team. The Market Statistics team is a centralized team within Nasdaq's European Market Services business unit, that supports leadership and product teams across markets and asset classes. The team is responsible for providing Business Intelligence dashboards for self-service analysis, producing recurring reports on trading statistics, as well as delivering ad-hoc analysis, all to enable informed decision-making.

Market Statistics produces data and reports for internal business stakeholders, as well as statistics for the public and national/international organizations such as the FSAs, Riksbanken and FESE. The team consists of five employees divided into Helsinki and Stockholm, and works closely with the other teams of ESR; Quantitative Research and BI&Data Engineering.

Your role and responsibilities:

In the role, you will take ownership of reports and the quality of reporting, manage automated reporting, produce monthly reports and provide analysis and support for several business areas: Listing Capital Markets, Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Gathering and processing trading, listings and market data
  • Monthly reporting of trading and listings data externally, to management and product units
  • Perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis to support business decisions
  • Use and develop different BI and reporting solutions, primarily SAP Business Objects and PowerBI.
  • Analyze data and investigate data quality using scripting languages such as SQL and potentially R or Python.
  • Have frequent contact with all levels of management, product development, sales, and other business support functions as well as external stakeholders and customers, providing excellent learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the BI&Data Engineering team to drive improvements to the data and reporting landscape

We expect you to have:

  • A degree within Finance and/or Engineering
  • A few years of relevant working experience reporting and developing reports and BI dashboards, preferably in PowerBI and/or SAP Business Objects
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Ability to create clear, concise and organized presentation and communication material
  • Have high attention detail and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with continuous improvements and creating new reports. E.g. identifying and investigating data issues, producing change requests and testing
  • An interest in business intelligence, trading and capital markets

It would be great if you have:

  • Relevant working experience with knowledge of capital markets and financial products
  • Proficiency in programming languages Python or R
  • Experience collaborating with IT, developers and data engineers to drive improvements to data models or data quality
  • Experience in working in a trading environment for cash equities, equity derivatives or  fixed-income
  • Knowledge of econometric and/or statistical methods

Monthly salary (Gross): 2800-3300 Eur (final salary will depend on candidate knowledge and experience), other bonuses apply.
