We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Data Scientist to join our Battery Analytics team. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to unearth insights, forecast trends, and enhance the performance and durability of our energy storage solutions. This role demands a strong foundation in statistical analysis and the capability to transform complex datasets into actionable intelligence.

We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Data Scientist to join our Battery Analytics team. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to unearth insights, forecast trends, and enhance the performance and durability of our energy storage solutions. This role demands a strong foundation in statistical analysis and the capability to transform complex datasets into actionable intelligence.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering (with data science exposure and skills), or a related field.
- Proven experience/knowledge in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with SQL.
- Experience/knowledge in creating insightful dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with battery technology and energy storage systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings in a remote environment.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What does a Part-Time Data Scientist do at Fluence?
- Analyzing extensive datasets to identify trends, detect anomalies, and find opportunities for improvement in battery performance and lifespan.
- Developing and maintaining predictive models to forecast battery health and optimize energy storage operations.
- Creating and overseeing dashboards and reports for battery analytics, aiding strategic decisions across the organization.
- Collaborating with teams such as engineering, product management, and field operations to implement data-driven improvements.
- Staying updated with the latest trends in data science and battery technology to continually enhance analytics capabilities.
