Job Description

What you’ll be doing  

At Meridian, we’re committed to building up advanced analytics to enable us to use machine learning models and AI to gain meaningful insights from data, and that’s where this role will play a vital part in developing and delivering data engineering solutions for Meridian’s complex Business projects and small change, from Generation right through to Retail.  

Provide technical leadership in data engineering covering design, implementation, and maintenance of data infrastructure and pipelines on the Databricks platform and ecosystem. This is a critical role that ensures best engineering practices, and the delivery of efficient and scalable data products.  

This role forms part of Meridians ICT data team, working alongside another Data Engineer, BI developers, Data Scientists and Data Architects.

What you’ll bring  

  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and real-time data processing
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, DBT, Denodo, and Terraform will be advantageous
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
