Job Description

As a Director, you will lead a world-class team of Engineers to define, drive and execute on a shared strategic vision for Payment Products. You will be closely working with Business partners to understand and elaborate requirements. You will drive the development and integration efforts and work with technical program managers to facilitate use cases, sizing efforts, and timelines. You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. You will lead a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Project Managers, Product Owners, and SMEs across the company on high impact Payment Product initiatives.

• Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution

• Work with product owners in developing a strategy and roadmaps to provide compelling capabilities that helps them succeed in their business goals

• Work closely with architects and senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development

• Instill best practices for software development, and deliver high quality work on tight schedules

• Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes

• Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards

• Collaborate, negotiate, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate new ideas with business partners

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 10+ years of experience in building large-scale data processing applications, at least 3 years of which were in leading engineering teams
• Extensive experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka)
• Strong knowledge of API development
• Hands-on expertise with Java
• Deep knowledge of Unix/Linux
• Experience with highly distributed, scalable, concurrent, and low latency systems working with one or more of the following database technologies: MySQL, Redis
• Experience working in an Agile and Test-Driven Development environment
• Proven experience delivering large scale, highly available production software
• Strong business and technical vision
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong automation mindset
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A deep understanding of end-to-end software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, strong attention to detail, team oriented, energetic, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style
• Payment processing background is a big plus
