What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Apply existing data science techniques to new problems and datasets using specialised programming techniques to meet needs of the Client and its customers;
  • Select from existing data sources and prepare data to be used by data science models;
  • Evaluate the outcomes and performance of data science models. Identify and implement opportunities to train and improve models and the data they use;
  • Publishes and reports on machine learning model outputs to meet customer needs and conforming to agreed standards;
  • Support review of data science and AI activities, processes, products or services;
  • Support development and maintenance of data pipelines for structured and unstructured data;
  • Contribute to machine learning initiative across the Business Area with suggestions for ML approaches and implementation, including the processing of training data and performance assessment of machine learning techniques on datasets;
  • Contribute to new/modifications to data science toolsets and metrics;
  • Supporting engagement with stakeholders, including industry and academia.
  • Some travelling between the sites may be requested with prior notice

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a relevant discipline (such as; Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering) with 3 years of post-related experience;
  • Experience with state-of-the-art data science, analytics and data Skill, Knowledge & Experience: integration tools;
  • Use of data science tools to support data analytics and data visualisation;
  • Experience in data presentation tools e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau; Kibana; Dash; Streamlit;
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices (git, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines etc)
  • Experience with Cloud Computing Language Proficiency:
  • Experience involving supporting data focused operations in a technical organization. Such experience should encompass at least 2 skills listed below:
  • Experience of working within a Big Data ecosystem, with tools such as DataBricks, Spark etc;
  • Planning, executing and maintaining data pipelines;
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, statistical and mathematical models and ability to effectively explain them to both technical and non-technical colleagues;
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • A thorough knowledge of one of the two languages (ideally both), English and French
