As an Ecosystem Data Scientist at Credit Karma, you'll leverage your technical expertise to develop product strategies for data science and beyond, impacting millions of people. You will collaborate cross-functionally, set company level goals, and monitor how data driven products impact the business. You will identify and drive roadmaps with deep expertise in data science, product and systems ecosystems and operational excellence. Communicate insights to influence executives and foster a culture of excellence.

What you'll do:

  • Work with vast and intricate data sets to tackle challenging problems using diverse analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Leverage technical expertise to apply quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and present data insights to develop strategies for our products, impacting millions of people.
  • Define and set company level goals, monitor key metrics to measure data science product success and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform and execute data science product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Drive roadmaps and build a culture of operational excellence.
  • Guide and develop junior Data Scientists as a member of the Data Science team, fostering their growth and expertise
  • Effectively communicate with diverse groups, including senior executives, showcasing adaptability and clarity in conveying complex ideas.

What we are looking for:

  • Advanced Degree (Ph.D. / MS) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Product / Data / Systems Ecosystems, Product Data Science, Machine Learning and related areas, ideally in hyper-growth consumer Internet scenarios.
  • Experience and deep understanding of a variety of data science advanced techniques and applied machine learning
  • Solid understanding of the statistical foundations of data science and machine learning 
  • Experience in optimizing business outcomes in hyper-growth Internet companies (predictive science, ad yield management, marketplaces, etc) a huge plus.

What we would like to see:

  • Experience with Finance data (credit record data, loan underwriting).
  • Ambitious, results oriented, hardworking and creative thinker.
  • Authoritative knowledge of Python, R and SQL, as well as ML systems such as TensorFlow, Torch, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with recommender systems, search ranking, and online experimentation is a plus.
