Who we are

Data Management is one of the foundation topics of the Making the Difference strategy to become one digital bank. The Chief Data Management Office (CDMO) is aiming to take ING's data management capabilities to the next level by further enhancing and implementing our data management strategy that stipulates how we want to govern data throughout the bank. 

Key components for bringing all of the bank’s data under governance are 

  • Implement a uniform data governance throughout ING 
  • Uniformly measure the quality of data 
  • Use of uniform policies and processes around data 

Job description

The world of data management is dynamic: customer expectations, regulatory requirements and our technological capabilities are continuously evolving. We need to constantly keep track on the latest developments and adapt our way of working when this makes sense. This cannot be done in isolation from head office, but requires bankwide collaboration amongst the full group of data management contributors in ING. To guide this process, we have implemented a global CDO Office with a strong focus on driving the increasing regulatory affairs and requirements - coordinates and drives from a content-perspective all responsibilities with respect to (communications related to) regulatory requests, including but not limited to ECB, Audit and other local regulatory deliveries.

There is a strong focus on enhancing and expending relationships with external stakeholders, identifying and anticipating priorities, issues and strategic challenges and preparing them for discussion.

For our global CDO Office we are now looking for a data management expert.

Key responsibilities

  • You have a deep understanding and experience in ING Data Management
  • You work and act rapidly based on intuition and are a strong conceptual thinker
  • You make connections between current data topics and the ING data strategy and the longer-term vision.
  • Ensures that a common approach to support our global data governance and data protection transition agenda is created and documented in close alignment with the respective stakeholders/ business partners
  • You are part of developing the CDO Office strategy and communicate it an inspiring manner
  • You challenge business cases, approaches and end goals, adjust if necessary, and anticipates on strategic opportunities and threats
  • You co-ordinate the definition of the multi-year (local and global) data governance roadmap and the stages towards the target solution and processes
  • You drive the execution of the data management implementation roadmap and manages the portfolio of running initiatives for it 
  • You prepare and facilitate decision making and agreements, and ensures that all relevant stakeholders are involved on local and global level. 
  • You monitor progress of the delivery of the theme and solution and you pro-actively update the stakeholders on issues and progress
  • You adjusts roadmap/solution in response to changing needs, gears between high level portfolio roadmap and investment theme
  • You challenge and inspire on purpose and solution, persuades fact based to come to realize the business benefits
  • You make an optimal use of your professional network in and outside the organisation
  • You master and support the process of learning to help others to be successful
  • You stimulate the organisations to collect and share best practices and you assure that lessons learned and best practises are incorporated in the organisation
  • Act as a role model within the organisation by guiding behavioural change and leveraging on interventions to lead the way

Requirements

  • Masters degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in regulatory affairs and non-financial risk, including but not limited to ECB, Audit, local regulatory deliveries. 
  • Proven working experience in the data management domain, proven deep content knowledge on all 4 data capabilities, data management as a whole
  • Proven experience in driving and developing successful innovation and transformations
  • Proven (change) delivery experience in strategic and complex projects with high impact
  • Drive and foster a culture of innovation in CDMO and the global network organisation 
  • Identify and manage stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Lead via innovation, instils trust and is a relationship builder with excellent communication skills
  • Conceptual and innovative thinker
  • Mastery of the English language (written and in speech)
