The opportunity:
In this role, you will contribute to a highly strategic and exciting Data Solutions team within Core Business Services as a Data Model and Governance Lead.
 

Your key responsibilities
The role of the Data Model and Governance Lead includes:

  • Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models.
  • Develop best practices for data coding, ensure consistency within the system, and review modifications of existing cross-compatibility systems. 
  • Identifies inefficiencies to improve operational excellence and reduce costs.
  • Leveraging EY Fabric standards.
  • Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies for the organization. 
  • Set standards for document naming, security, and lifecycle & retention architecture.
  • Works closely with the vendor to ensure all standards are being followed and the strategy is aligned to EY roadmap.
  • Understands a complex hybrid environment. (Cloud/On Prem)
  • In depth knowledge of Data Lakes/Query Lakes.

 

Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you should have some knowledge in:

  • Azure Cloud
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Azure DevOps 
  • Databricks
  • Delta Sharing
  • PySpark
  • Parquet Files
  • DataWarehousing
  • Extraction/Transformation/Load (ETL) Architecture and processes
  • SQL
  • Highly experienced in coordinating disparate team and very articulate in communications.

 

What we look for:

  • Knowledge of relational databases and data architecture computer systems, including SQL
  • Familiarity with or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information technology, or data modeling
  • Knowledge of ER modeling, big data, enterprise data, and physical data models
  • Familiarity with data modeling software such as SAP PowerDesigner, Microsoft Visio, or Erwin Data Modeler
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
