We are building a world-class engineering team and are looking to recruit a Senior Data Engineer to help lead the development of a greenfields enterprise data platform.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, possess strong technical skills, and have experience designing and implementing scalable data platforms.

About the Role

  • Design, develop, and support data models, pipelines, and data visualisation solutions based on Microsoft technologies.
  • Work closely with the data science team and wider engineering team to ensure all relevant data sources are accessible and integrated with the data platform.
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure the data platform meets their requirements.
  • Provide training and support for end users to enable them to effectively utilise data tools and platforms, and ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to leverage data insights for decision-making.
  • Contribute to developing Onside’s artificial intelligence strategy,  and ensuring the data platform meets the technical requirements for AI use cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience building data warehouses, data pipelines, and/or data platforms using the lakehouse architecture.
  • Expertise using Microsoft technologies including SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric. Knowledge of Databricks would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and experience building interactive dashboards and reports is a plus.
  • Strong data modelling and data querying skills. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive, motivated, and self-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
