Eligibility criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a graduation date in 2025 or 2026
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization or sponsorship for this position now or in the future.
  • 10 week commitment for 40 hours per week with availability to start June 10th 2024
  • Must be able to commute to the office to work onsite

Exciting Internship Opportunity! Are you ready to dive into the world of artificial intelligence? Join us at Samsung SDS America as the AI Engineer Intern and unlock the opportunities to make an impact on the Samsung SDSA Research. With mentorship and support every step of the way, you’ll have the tools you need to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

As the AI Engineer Intern, you will have an opportunity to work with our Samsung SDSA Research. In this role, you will be working in an exciting Generative AI project and will support the team to optimize a LLM by using software techniques to provide faster response to the natural language questions. The intern will have the opportunity to learn the state-of-the-art Generative AI research using the real-world data, especially will have a chance to learn the optimization techniques for serving LLM models.

 

This role is based in our office in San Jose, California (on-site).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in testing and validating AI model performance and addressing any issues or bottlenecks in the software
  • Optimize the Large Language Model (LLM) using software techniques to enhance the model's efficiency and provide quicker responses to natural language queries
  • This internship represents a blend of software engineering and AI research. We are seeking an intern with strong software skills and, most importantly, a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new knowledge and apply new techniques

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management or a related field
  • Should have taken at least 1 course in AI or Machine Learning.
  • Proficient in Python

Preferred:

  • Completed one course in compiler or architecture class
