Olive is searching for experienced machine learning engineers (MLE) to provide technical leadership and guidance as we build our technology platform. We encourage a growth mindset amongst all of our engineers and value those with the drive to be continuously expanding industry knowledge. A successful MLE will possess strong analytical as well as technical skills, and have the ability to communicate the logic behind technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

As a ML engineer, you will use world-class engineering and ML techniques to answer clinical questions based on our knowledge graph.You will work with a distributed team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Program Managers and Software Engineers to develop Olive AI solutions.

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

  • You will build and deploy robust ML/DL models that improve entity extraction, classification, resolution, and disambiguation within the knowledge graph across multiple data lakes.
  • You will develop systems for feature engineering and onboarding of datasets into the graph
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical business partners to develop analytics and metrics that describe the performance of matching systems and quality of our data.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, software engineering, data specialists, analytics & UX engineers to support the knowledge graph use cases with our customers.
  • Actively participate in and lead design and architecture of major software components, systems, and features.
  • Own your technical stories and assignments- from writing code, clarifying requirements, meeting project timelines, and delivering high-quality, workable features.
  • Help maintain and contribute to the collaborative Engineering culture.
  • Coordinate with Product and Engineering leadership to identify both long term and short term needs
  • Create and participate in engineering build plans that will enable teams to meet product requirements
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Analyze applications and make the necessary changes to optimize performance.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.
  • Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.
  • Mentor and lead other engineers and help them adhere to our best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related disciplines
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies including various SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Expert in designing and delivering software solutions for the real world problems across a variety of technology stacks and programming languages
  • Expert in development of highly maintainable and reliable code using practices such as unit testing, integration testing, proper code documentation, and appropriate logging
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of fundamentals engineering concepts
  • Deep Knowledge of software and application design and architecture
  • 8+ years of relevant programming experience, with a preference for
    • Expert in one or more languages Java, Python, Go or similar languages
    • Expert in multiple AWS services like SNS, Lambda, SQS, S3, Secrets Manager etc.
    • Build and Release pipelines such as Gitlab
    • Expert in model development with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras)
    • Experience building production ML models and systems
  • Experience working with graph (Labeled Property or RDF) databases like Amazon Neptune or Neo4J is plus
  • Experience in NLP techniques along with Graph ML is a plus
  • Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
  • Experience writing and reviewing detailed Technical Design Documents (TDDs) is a plus
