The Junior Data Analyst must be passionate about data science and genomics. They will be responsible for the analysis, processing, and delivery of genomic data. They should have demonstrated troubleshooting skills and a strong attention to detail. Organization and teamwork will be integral to their success.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Execute the policies, practices, and procedures that support data quality, data security, data standardization and integration
  • Utilize data access applications for storing, retrieving, and destroying data
  • Connect and clean data from disparate data sources to prepare for analysis
  • Identify data quality/integrity issues
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information from internal and external customers and assist with data delivery in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand, clarify, analyze and document business requirements for reporting and analytics initiatives
  • Assist in the creation of SOPs, work instructions, and other controlled documents
  • Communicate accurate and timely project status, issues, risks and scope changes to all stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

 

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Biological Sciences
  • One-Two+ years’ experience with SQL 
  • One-Two+ years’ experience with a relational database (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Exposure to a data analysis software language (R, Python, SAS)
  • Laboratory Experience is preferred – specifically Affymetrix/Thermo or Illumina genotyping
  • Working knowledge of genotyping file formats (VCF, PLINK)
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and other governing regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of CFR 21, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA as they relate to data validation and privacy

 

Job Location Peachtree Corners, Georgia

Position Type Full-Time/Regular

Shift Description 8am-5pm

The position requires work during Weekdays. Occasional weekends if required.
