About the Team

We’re looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our China Data Science team. We are a group of analytics, inference and algorithm data scientists working on product and analytics to enhance data informed decisions for Airbnb China Guest, Hosting and Platform business. 

As a Data Scientist working on Analytics with a focus on Hosting business, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a strong team of engineers, product managers, designers and operation specialists to optimize our hosting products and focus on improving listing quality and guest on-trip experience. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to improve the decision efficiency and quality by leading experimentation initiatives. In this role, you will have tremendous upward exposure as the Data Science team’s mouthpiece to senior business partners. Role & Responsibilities

• Support and drive initiatives in the China hosting product (e.g. host paid promotion and strategic ranking, on-trip experience etc) and experimentation initiatives. Discover data insights and help the team make data-driven decisions.
• Evaluate and define product and business metric framework.
• Build key data sets/pipelines to empower operational and exploratory analysis.
• Democratize data by building and socializing decision tools (dashboards, reports).
• Experiment design, measurement, and analysis.
• Effective communications with key stakeholders including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Operation Managers during daily collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in data analytics area & degree in - Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Economics or related quantitative fields preferred
• Advanced in SQL and proficient with a programming language, with Python or R a plus
• Ability to build clear and easy to understand dashboards
• Ability to translate complex findings into a compelling narrative
• Ability to define relevant metrics that can guide and influence stakeholders to the appropriate and accurate insights
• Experience working with cross functional teams and ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Experience driving technical and impactful roadmaps for the business, and leading seamless execution of it.
• Experience or willingness to learn tools to create data pipelines using Airflow; strong data foundation skillset is a plus.
