B2B Imaging Products Management Placement Year 2024

Location: Weybridge, UK

We are seeking a Placement Student with a passion for marketing, data and communication to become our Assistant Product Manager.

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the European Product Marketing team within the Sony Imaging Product & Solutions division, reporting to the Category Head. This B2B division manages products & solutions to a wide number of markets such as Key Broadcasters, Live Production and Content Creators. This position offers a unique position to be responsible for your own product category collaborating with a wide number of internal stakeholders and members at Sony Japan HQ and external customers to help drive sales and demand.

Throughout this 12-month paid placement, you will be given the opportunity to not only expand your knowledge in product marketing and immerse yourself in professional business environment but also gain an exciting insight into Sony product marketing & sales teams to see where your career could take you. Working within a large established European team, you will be offered expert mentorship alongside multiple development opportunities.  

You will:

• Plan and manage the monthly forecast of your product's own categories, including liaison with the European sales team and supply chain members.
• Create monthly feedback material on forecasts for HQ members in Japan.
• Help track monthly market share for reporting and analysis, while proactively suggesting improvements in competitor analysis and monthly price tracking.
• Support budget creation for new Fiscal year budget agreements.  
• Assist in the creation of a wide range of marketing collateral, product documentation, and training materials for sales enablement tools across all product categories.
• Provide day-to-day support for activities and events for the wider European Product marketing team, including ad hoc travel where necessary.
• Provide market intelligence support for various groups within the B2B divisions such as Live Production and Content Creation.

You will bring:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• An interest in all aspects of marketing, with a willingness to learn about technology.
• Analytical data-driven thinking, with a passion for understanding market trends through data.
• An assertive, proactive attitude with a willingness to support all functions when required.
• Fluency in English, knowledge of other European languages is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Your new office:  Weybridge

Based at the Weybridge office, you will enjoy a vibrant and friendly working environment. We have an onsite canteen with a wide range of options available, and a barista style coffee shop. There is a well-provisioned onsite gym run by our own Sony Wellbeing Coordinator, with classes on set days in the mornings, at lunch and after work hours. We have a staff car park which includes electric charging points, an undercover and secure bike rack , or if you will use public transport we have a shuttle bus service that regularly runs between train station and the office at peak times.
