About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering - the Data Engineering Admin is responsible for overseeing the integration, deployment, dashboard development and administration within the BI platforms and related applications supported by Data Engineering. The Data Engineering Admin will also help drive strategic initiatives and the application road map. This position may act as a consultant  and provide general guidance to Analysts that are new to Tableau, Looker, etc. The role will oversee all licensing duties for the systems in scope and ensure proper user level security protocols are in place to ensure company data is secure.

In this role you can expect to: 

  • Own the configuration, management, and support of reporting applications and similar platforms:
    • Monitor platform activity & capture usage stats
    • Responsible for ongoing maintenance, upgrades, monitoring performance issues, & optimization of resource consumption
  • Perform administrative functions to ensure proper global settings, configuration and provision organizational resources in all aspects of reporting and related applications. 
    • Oversee and maintain all user licenses
    • Manage user and group permissions and BI content
    • Implement role based access control within BI dashboards
    • Manage BI vendor relationships, assist in contract renewals
    • Document and communicate BI standards, procedures and project status
    • Partner will key business stakeholders who already have BI analysts developing content
  • Troubleshoot and optimize reporting dashboards/workbooks and data refreshes
  • Synthesize data analysis into reports and presentations, create ad-hoc operational reports as requested by business
  • Create and maintain a content library of existing reporting & analytical data products
  • Partner with other business groups to implement strategic initiatives, including integrating to data warehouses, change management, and defining analytics best practices

You may be a good fit for our team if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, a related area, or equivalent in previous experience.
  • 3+ years proven experience in developing and deploying dashboards and similar types of reporting with Looker, Tableau, Domo, etc. 
  • 3+ years proven experience with reporting tools like Looker, Tableau, Domo, etc. 
  • 2+ years of administration experience with tools like Looker, Tableau, Domo, etc. 
  • 2+ years of experience leading internal reporting user groups or similar instructor-like forums 
  • 2+ years of experience building and optimizing calculations in reporting tools like Looker, Tableau, or Domo. 
  • Proven experience optimizing data sources for reporting needs and handing off requirements to Data Engineers and/or SQL DBA’s. 
  • 1+ years experience with iPaaS tools - Snaplogic, Workato, etc. 
  • 1+ years experience with SQL, Python, or related
  • Experience with agile or scrum methodologies 
  • Ability to work with people across the organization and skilled at managing cross-functional relationships and communicating with leadership across multiple organizations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different audiences.
  • Experience with critical applications like Salesforce, Netsuite, Anaplan, Marketo and other Marketing, Sales, SaaS platforms.
