Commercial Data Analyst

The incumbent will work with various sales channels within the commercial teams to derive insights and areas to address business needs for sustainable growth and profitability. He/She will also conduct market research to understand industry needs, trends and gaps and translate them to actionable initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Data Mining & Automation
• Mine data to identify trends, patterns and correlations from internal systems and external sources to support commercial initiatives or needs
• Gather data from internal systems and external sources 
• Write scripts to automate mundane commercial processes


• Data Reporting and Visualizations
• Support the translation of business needs into analytics and reporting requirements
• Design data reports and visualization tools (dashboards to facilitate data understanding
• Provide meaningful insights to assist managers in key decision making


• Relationship building
• Working closely with all sales channels (e.g partnerships, business development, self-serve) and different stakeholders to define business and information needs
• Liaise with stakeholders to identify issues and how analytics can help solve such issues


• Solutioning
• Develop solutions and recommendations supported by data to address commercial initiatives and needs
• Initiate projects that will value-add to shippers and/or grow or retain market share
• Think ahead and propose what new data sources should be made available and researched to enhance the analyses

Requirements

• 0-2 years (data analyst) of experience in analytics and product/process improvement-related initiatives
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics preferred
• Good understanding of analytics and computational modeling, business needs analysis, data visualization and stakeholder management
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with SQL, Python, R (or other tools for statistical analysis) and data visualization tools a plus
