Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the Role: 

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer is rooted in the engineering discipline while working collaboratively across the Insights business line and Unite Us departments. As the Senior Machine Learning Engineer you will work in a team of Machine Learning Engineers, work hands-on with data, and develop the full life cycle of flagship model development for the company, with a focus on building recommendation systems and engines. You will also provide strategic insight into the overall analytics roadmap of the organization, working closely with product teams. 

This role reports to the Director, Data Engineering (Data Science), and consults with key business stakeholders as a subject matter expert on data engineering and data science solutions. 

What You'll Do:

• Define and implement scalability and self-sufficiency into a predictive model build process that meets both technology and data science requirements.
• Provide data science technology subject matter expertise, informing the overall strategic direction and prioritization of data science initiatives.
• Improve Unite Us’ product and services suite by creating, expanding, and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture to support the data science strategic roadmap.
• You will be working with the Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams for managing high-quality datasets exposed for internal and external consumption by downstream users and applications. 
• Work with the Data Engineering team to create and maintain optimized data pipeline architectures on large and complex data sets.
• Work with stakeholders to assist in the data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Keep data separated and segregated according to relevant data policies.
• Work with data scientists to develop data ready tools to support their job.

You’re a great fit for this role if:

• You have at least 5+ years of experience in Data Science and Data Engineering.
• You have experience with building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. 
• You have advanced working knowledge of SQL and Python/R.
• You have experience with Amazon AWS services (Sagemaker) and Snowflake.
• You have experience with monitoring metrics for predictive models

• This position is remote, the U.S. based, excluding Colorado 
• This position may require 10% travel
