Senior Data Analyst

The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst on the SafeMine Product Team, you will own analyses focused on improving the quality of our healthcare data, which is used downstream for analytics and data products. Data is central to the success of our business - both in quality and coverage. 
You will be responsible for analyzing data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality. You will identify gaps in current data sets as well as design new attributes to continue to help the downstream systems improve their use of data. You’ll be responsible for the quality of our data pipelines - communicating your findings, providing recommendations on any findings, and designing product and data enhancements where needed.

What You’ll Do

• Explore and derive insights from high volumes of data to evaluate data quality and extract actionable insights from the data
• Execute data querying, cleansing and analysis
• Build expertise on the inbound data, per data type (prescription, medical claims etc.)
• Exploratory analytics to find data issues and provide recommendations for fixing
• Test changes in the data (both planned and unplanned) to determine impact on downstream systems
• Build new attributes for both internal and customer facing use, to continue to improve usability of the data
• Collaborate closely with a team of Product Managers, Data Operations and Developers to ensure data is built and delivered with quality

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in a highly analytical and data-intensive role
• Experience with SQL and Excel
• Experience doing analytics across large sets of data
• Understand how relational databases work, and experience designing transformations, mappings and working with reference tables
• Experience investigating data issues and working with a cross-functional team for addressing
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or SpotfireEnergized by working through complex problems and bringing innovation to products
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related technical field

• Experience working with healthcare data (prescription and medical claims)

• Experience with Python
• Experience in the Life Sciences industry
• Experience working within an agile team
