We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst II to join our growing Healthcare Economics team. In this position you will be part of the global finance team, supporting various parts of the organization with particular emphasis on global operations through healthcare economics. 
Preferred locations for this position are St. Louis (MO), Chicago (IL), Austin (TX), or the Bay Area, San Francisco.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Support clinical, analytics, and finance leaders across the organization to develop, forecast, and track population health and care management programs
  • Support the development of ad-hoc reporting and monitoring processes for a variety of care model programs
  • Use historical population-level data to create predictive measures of performance outcomes (costs and utilization) to identify areas of opportunity
  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including claims, provider, member, and encounters data to identify and assess the business impact of trends
  • Develop and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports using SQL, Excel, or other analytics tools
  • Communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences with limited guidance

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience working with health insurance claims data sets; experience in an ACO or health plan environment preferred
  • Ability to integrate, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources as well as design and construct analyses and tools that extract, prepare, analyze, and store/present results to support business needs
  • Knowledge of query development using SQL or other coding languages
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools, relational databases, and risk scoring models preferred
  • Good communication skills with comfort presenting within the team
  • Able to work in a highly matrixed environment that is heavily team based in getting results
  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working within the healthcare industry; 1+ years of experience working with large databases, data verification, and data management
