We are looking for a driven Data Analysis Intern to join the Publishing Solutions team. We lead impactful cross-functional publishing projects which drive our clear, accurate, and quick payment to rights holders.
You will dive deep into data to help optimize our programs, run scripts and queries to ensure accurate royalty payouts while also further strengthening your knowledge about music publishing.

What you'll do

  • Analyze licensing and royalty data to fulfill requests from teams across Spotify including legal, licensing, and accounting
  • Synthesize data trends into impactful suggestions that can be presented clearly internally and externally
  • Use Python, SQL, and Excel/Google Sheets to navigate datasets, run notebooks, and generate reports
  • Work closely with the Publishing Solutions team, Data Scientists, Content Accounting, Legal, and other important team members across fields

Who you are

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Media, Music with strong quantitative skills planning to graduate in 2022
  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2022
  • You know how to synthesize and communicate intricate issues effectively
  • You care about data as well as establishing and optimizing programs
  • You are well-organized and detail-oriented with a proactive nature when problem-solving
  • The ideal candidate has previous experience with recording or publishing rights or in a business/technical consulting environment, however, this is optional
  • You have a deep understanding of SQL, Python, Tableau, Google Sheets/Excel, and other data analysis tools with an insatiable desire to keep learning
  • Demonstrable experience of Google BigQuery is a plus.

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location
  • For this role, you can choose to either work from home or from one of our office locations
  • Working hours? We operate within the EST time zone for collaboration
Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 4:59 PM EST.
