About the team:

As a Sr. Data Scientist - Quantitative Investing, you would help democratize access to quantitative investing for all investors. You will use mathematical and statistical modeling to prototype, test, and analyze the models behind our investing products. In this role, you will be responsible for deriving financial insights from data and research, developing products with these insights, and helping our users navigate their personal finance journey.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Design and implement asset allocation and portfolio management strategies for both goal-based and lifecycle investing
  • Perform backtesting and market simulations to calibrate and validate investing algorithms and parameters
  • Build algorithmic advice models that provide users with tailored plans to achieve their financial goals, such as retirement
  • Investigate and design tax overlay strategies, such as tax loss harvesting
  • Work with multi-functional teams including Product, Research, Design, and Engineering to test and implement new product ideas that empower our users' financial decisions and deliver financial insights to customers in delightful, understandable ways.

About you:

  • 3+ years of quantitative investment experience in the financial industry, ideally at a large asset management firm or fintech
  • Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as finance, economics, mathematics, and statistics
  • Experience with building statistical and mathematical models with financial datasets across different asset classes
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Experience writing production-quality, scalable, efficient code for reliable testing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present sophisticated quantitative research clearly
