We are looking for a data scientist to join the band as Data Scientist, Data Services & Automation. This role will be an integral part of the Advertising Sciences team - driving our value proposition with advertisers and agencies by demonstrating the power of Spotify as a media partner. You will be joining our larger Advertising Business Marketing team, communicating the value of Spotify and digital audio to the larger market.

What You'll Do
- Contribute to the development of the Advertising Sciences function and the wider analytics community at Spotify
- Work closely with colleagues in analytics, research, and data science roles to develop new approaches in scaling the business
- Create insights from large sets of data that will help drive decisions and business performance
- Build tools and dashboards that help sales, marketing, and analytics teams more easily tap into the large amounts of available data
- Develop new datasets and design and implement ETL pipelines in SQL and Google BigQuery
Who You Are
- You have 4+ years of proven experience, with a degree in computer science, statistics, or mathematics or another quantitative field
- Strong statistical and modeling competence (forecasting, regression modeling, a/b testing, significance testing, etc.) and experience performing analysis with large datasets (experience with machine learning preferred)
- You are an inherently curious and communicative person that loves to dig into the reasons why, values building positive relationships with co-workers and stakeholders, and has the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
- You have the technical competence to perform analytics: data extraction and analytics (advanced SQL and Python capabilities), experience with analytics & visualization libraries (pandas, tidyverse, seaborn, ggplot), strong experience in visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
- Proficiency in Google App Scripts is a plus
- Proficiency in Flask is a plus
- Knowledge of the advertising industry, and/or prior experience in analyzing data for insights or performance in marketing / digital media contexts is a plus
