Machine Learning Engineer with Spotify USA Inc. in 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY  10007 
Job Duties: Collaborate with a cross functional agile team of software engineers, data engineers, ML experts, and others to build new product features. Prototype new algorithms, evaluate with small scale experiments, and implement solutions at scale to our 75 million active users. Build out feature extraction and training pipelines for machine learning products and orchestrate these pipelines for production use. Keep up to date on state-of-the-art advances in the Machine Learning literature. Perform advanced statistical analysis, including regression modeling, A/B testing, significance testing, and propensity score matching to improve business decisions. Participate in on-call rotation for the group, triaging system alerts that come from all production pipelines and services written by the group. Write test code for production pipelines/services. Perform system testing/profiling and improve production system efficiency for model training and serving. Use Machine Learning models like Linear Regression, Random Forests on various business datasets with relevant preprocessing and evaluation to generate business insights or provide useful features to the consumers. Design metrics, tooling, and A/B tests to support key business decisions. Participate in code reviews with the team by both providing and incorporating feedback. Communicate service level agreements with stakeholders and ensuring they are consistently met. Work with product leadership to translate business requirements into technical tasks and deliverables and communicate the business impact of those deliverables. Position requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science or a related field. Must have working knowledge of the following skills gained through coursework or experience: working with disparate data sources, both structured and unstructured; Understanding how to manipulate data and perform feature engineering on datasets; Utilizing data exploration / data visualization tools such as ggplot package in R and matplotlib in Python; Utilizing Cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS; Writing code in statistical programming languages, such as Python or R, with proper documentation; Utilizing Machine Learning techniques such as clustering and decision tree learning, and understanding their real-world advantages/drawbacks; Explaining the intuition and assumptions behind Machine Learning algorithms, and applying these concepts to craft Machine Learning systems that solve challenging problems; Utilizing advanced statistical techniques and concepts including regression, properties of distributions, and statistical tests and proper usage; Performing predictive modeling such as time-series to increase and optimize business outcomes; and Communicating complex statistics and machine learning concepts to both peers and non-experts.
