Responsibilities:Responsibilities include database installs, upgrades, patching, security, troubleshooting and issue resolution, backup procedures, and performance tuningImplement backup and recovery processesOptimize query performance.Perform database health checks Plan and perform the database upgrades.Perform maintenanceWork closely with the application team to understand changes planned, perform an impact analysis, and provide feedback.Automate deployment.Troubleshoots and resolves issuesDue to the 24x7 operations of the business must be able to work a flexible work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, emergency escalations, etc.Consults and troubleshoots different technologies and understands how they interact together (MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.)Tests and approves future product version releases  Required Skills:8+ years of IT experience2+ year’s hands-on database administration experience, preferably MongoDB.Strong scripting experience - Unix/Shell Scripting, PythonTechnical knowledge of Linux & Windows-based platformsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues quickly and effectivelyAbility to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actionsExcellent understanding of MongoDB database concepts and structuresExcellent knowledge of MongoDB HA architectureExcellent understanding of MongoDB database performance tuning skills   Nice to Haves:2+ years of experience with MongoDB either as a DBA or DeveloperExposure to Redis and/or Elasticsearch is a plus.Proven experience implementing and supporting enterprise database systemsProven experience managing MongoDB database configurationsExcellent understanding of Linux operating system Education:Bachelor’s degree in a related field of software development, database programming, or computer engineering required
