About the Role
Gojek is committed to creating a safe and trusted platform for all - drivers, consumers and merchants. Fraud has a large impact on both the user experience and financials - you will thus be working in an area of high relevance and impact. Specifically, you will help develop data-driven methodologies to reduce fraud risk and improve user experience on the platform. This will entail identifying relevant data sources, evaluating them and building predictive models for fraud detection. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in a cross-functional team with business and product stakeholders and leverage our vast data and the Big Data infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, product managers, validation teams across the risk organization
  • Help develop statistical/machine learning based techniques to tackle fraud
  • Prototype, validate and iterate solutions end-to-end [data ingestion to model performance]
  • Be actively involved in deploying and maintaining models in production
  • Help deliver and improve business metrics continuously

What You Will Need

  • Masters/Bachelors in Statistics, CS or related engineering streams
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing statistical/ML solutions
  • Good understanding of Statistics/ML fundamentals
  • Hands-on with the Python DS environment Exposure to pyspark and cloud environments like GCP/AWS is preferred
  • Capability to solve a well-defined DS problem end-to-end independently

Our team consists of a lean group of data scientists with diverse professional and personal backgrounds. We’re stationed across Jakarta, Bangalore, Singapore and Bangkok. The safety and trustworthiness of Gojek’s platform is our top priority; our efforts impact the user experience and financials, among many other things. Partnering closely with the subject matter experts, product managers, and engineers, we work to deliver bold solutions to reduce fraud and abuse on the platform. 
We’re a high-performing, tight-knit team who are committed to the safety and growth of the company, as well as each other’s personal growths and wellbeing. Pre-Covid, factions of our team would enjoy catching up over a round of drinks after work. However, with WFH becoming more normalized, we've been sharing our favorite ways to prioritize a healthy work-life balance at home. This includes ample “fun” Zoom calls where we discuss latest and interesting tech-related findings.
