The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe. The Platform Insights team consists of highly motivated and extremely friendly people, specialising in providing core datasets, discovering insights, and providing guidance related to engineering effectiveness and data-informed decisions across R&D in Spotify.
We gather data from our software development processes, the internal tools usage, and our quarterly Engineering Satisfaction survey. We leverage this data to identify bottlenecks, increase Spotify software development effectiveness, and promote data-informedness.

What you’ll do

  • Formulate hypotheses related to engineering effectiveness, validate them from our datasets, and communicate these insights effectively
  • Participate in running the quarterly company-wide Engineering Satisfaction survey
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists and team leads across the mission to create and promote shared data-informed methods

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience, working with software engineering teams
  • You have relevant training in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or another quantitative discipline
  • You possess statistical skills to perform advanced analytics (such as regression modelling, a/b testing and significance testing)
  • You have experience performing analysis with large datasets in a cloud-based data processing environment, such as BigQuery or similar
  • You have coding skills, such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • You have analytics tools experience, such as Pandas, R, SQL, or Hadoop
