Riverside Research is seeking a Lead AI/ML Software Engineer to support existing contracts to advise and prototype automation solutions to NASIC’s most difficult S&TI problems.  This position is located in our Beavercreek, Ohio office. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship. This position does not require a clearance to start, but candidates will be required (and must be eligible) to obtain clearances up to Top-Secret / SCI.

As a highly valued and sought-after Riverside Research employee, you will be part of a highly skilled and integrated team that analyzes intelligence data to discover opportunities for automated solutions. Through this DoD mission-critical work, you will assess customer systems and processes and advise on opportunities to insert intelligent automation and artificial intelligent/machine learning (AI/ML) techniques to reduce the burden of low cognition tasks on the analyst. You will lead all software efforts for the team by managing the current code base and working with team members to delivery software that upholds the highest standard of software best practices. Additionally, you will lead efforts to advance our MLOps environment to transition and sustain ML models.

Ideal candidates have exposure to or proficiency in end-to-end development and deployment of machine learning models, to include processes such as Python/TensorFlow AI/ML model training and best practices.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead DevOps duties including integration of software, managing software baselines, creating regression tests, and configuration management
  • Refactoring AI/ML prototype and research code to follow software development best practices
  • Work with AI/ML engineers to implement algorithms and systems in an efficient way
  • Create multipurpose code libraries for general use across multiple projects
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary, experienced, energetic team on a rapid development schedule
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years’ work experience in software development
  • Proficient with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, Java, C/C++
  • Experience with Python-based end-to-end AI/ML model development lifecycle using a recent deep learning platform (TensorFlow preferred)

Proficient in collaborative Office 365 tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Self-driven, strong analytic, inferencing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Communicates highly technical results and methods clearly and succinctly
  • Collaborative team member with the highest integrity and moral compass

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance; must be capable of acquiring at least Top Secret / SCI
  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
  • Proficient with Python-based end-to-end AI/ML model development lifecycle using a recent deep learning platform (TensorFlow preferred)
  • Agile software development experience/certifications 
  • Technical project management and oversight experience 
  • Experience with developing and managing relational databases (i.e. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Experience with one or more of the following: GPU/parallel processing (i.e. CUDA), classification, pattern recognition, anomaly detection, pose estimation, or similar
  • Experience with DoD intelligence production processes and workflows
