Data Scientist-Personalization

SimpliSafe's Ecommerce team is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to build personalization models optimizing to customer lifetime value using the wealth of email, site and demographic data we have about our customers and their preferences.  Personalization through email and site is a high-priority area that we are using to drive customer engagement and loyalty.  In this role you will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product managers to expand SimpliSafe’s personalization models and capabilities. You’ll be responsible for exploratory data analysis, data mining, researching, evaluating and translating machine learning solutions from conception through to a/b testing and timely deployment. Your work will have a measurable impact on Ecommerce performance and SimpliSafe business.

What You'll Do

• Utilize SimpliSafe data sources to help define opportunity areas for personalization
• Partner closely with Ecomm and Marketing to define and build models tailored for email and site
• Partner with data Engineering to help bring models into production
• Help measure the impact of the models through a/b testing
• Innovate and keep up to date with personalization field and ML techniques

What You'll Need

• BS in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field) and 2 years data science experience OR MS/PhD and 1 year data science experience
• Skilled in SQL, R, Python, and statistical methods to analyze behavioral data
• Experience building and implementing personalization models
• Strong analytical, statistical, and math abilities and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize concepts for non technical audiences
• Extreme attention to detail but with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with a/b testing a plus
