Data Engineer

We are hiring a Data Engineer to drive the development of our client's document processing system.

Written in python, this system uses NLP to convert a variety of source documents into the client's document format, which is used as instructions to our engine that generates movies for our customers.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will show architectural leadership by growing our customer-facing capabilities. It is expected that you can take high-level architectural instructions, and communicate alternatives and suggestions to the team.

Candidates should be an expert at modern Python app development, data pipelines, data indexing, and relational databases (especially PostgreSQL). A candidate with strong operational sensibilities will find kindred spirits to collaborate with.

You will be a senior engineer on a team that develops:

• Python Document processing daemon
• Data transformation pipelines (ETL)
• Data Indexing

You will work daily with:

• NLP (Natural Language Processing)
• Data Indexing
• Python
• AWS
• Postgres/Redis
• BASH/command line

Requirements

• 7-10 years professional data infrastructure Development
• Expert SQL and database knowledge
• Strong operational skills
• Experience with NLP required, bonus points for Spacy specifically
• Graph Database/GraphQL experience a plus
